October, 2004. New Species of Goatfish Reported in Hawaii!
The specimen below is Mulloidichthys mimicus, a species that occurs in the Seychelles, Marquesas, and Line Islands, where it mimics and schools with taape (bluestriped snapper). It was caught recently on Kauai and photographed by fisherman Alden Takata. |
